TOM'S STORY

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS, AGE 6
Best known for his co-starring role in the movie, Headstrong (2019), opposite WWE Hall-of-Famer Rob Van Dam, Tom Garland is a captivating stand-up comedian, filmmaker, actor, and radio personality, who first caught the eyes of Steve-O and Tom Green.
In 2013, while still living in his hometown, the unlikely locale of Cedar Rapids IA, Garland's first break came by landing a position as the opening act for the MTV icons' Original Pranksters Residency at the historic Starlite Theater at The Rivera on the Las Vegas Strip.
From there, his touring career exploded across the U.S. and Canada, with stints alongside talent from WWE, UFC, TNA/Impact Wrestling, Trailer Park Boys, Broken Lizard, Whitest Kids U’Know, Viva La Bam, CKY, and Jackass. Offstage, while others chased the industry and lifestyle, Garland went out and lived it.
Raised across the street from a quiet cornfield, he ended up riding cross country on Bam Margera’s chaotic tour bus, hitting the gym with Frank Mir, and learning the “athletic” benefits of marijuana from Rob Van Dam—while not playing sports. He once landed in Las Vegas Weekly for punching Preston Lacy in the face with a raw chicken, but that was long before he was vegan roommates with Austin Aries. His camera roll includes Criss Angel, Andrew Dice Clay, and Flava Flav. He's woken up more than once to find Aaron Carter crashing on his couch.
His life undoubtedly became weird and wild, so he shaped his act that way too. Garland uses a one-of-a-kind blend of stand-up, razor sharp improvisation and crowd work. Every night is a different show. Garland's style allows him to keep his material original, organic and always on-point.
In 2017, he returned to Las Vegas as the feature act for Tom Green's The Tom Green Show Residency at Bally’s. He soon began performing regularly at premier venues on the Strip, including Planet Hollywood, Rio, Linq, Stratosphere and The MGM Grand.
Following a return to Iowa during the pandemic, Garland pivoted to directing his first documentary film, Arcade Gamer: The True Story (2023), and released his debut comedy special, Tom Garland: Selling Out (2024).
Garland has also appeared on Reelz Channel, FOX TV, The CW, AXS TV, FITE TV, The Action Network, Tubi, Fawesome, Amazon Prime and has scene-stealing roles in 8 feature films. You've read about him in Las Vegas Weekly, Las Vegas Sun, and Las Vegas Magazine, and he can be heard weekly on Iowa’s Rock 108 Morning Show and in rotation on iHeartRadio’s 24/7 Comedy.
From the glamorous, neon blur of the Las Vegas Strip -- to outskirt dive bars where the mic cuts out, but the hecklers never do -- Tom Garland brings a voice that’s raw, funny, and uniquely his own. He's an artist that doesn't fit into any mold and doesn’t want to.
